Is it true that if u wash ur face alot ur face gets grease and you get more acne?

Yes, it is true ..when you wash your face too much it will become dried out and your body will respond by creating even more oil, also when your face gets too dried out your skin no longer has a protective barrier and will let in more bacteria, which is what pimples are buildups of ..if your face is oily and you can't really use moisturizers and wash your face frequently then you should be sure to use spectro jel before cleansing it protects your face's natural barrier, removes bacteria gently, and mosturizes dry areas not oily areas, it also doesn't include many of the ingredients a lot of cleansers do that contribute to the stipping of skin's natural oilsIs it true that if u wash ur face alot ur face gets grease and you get more acne?
YES, if you wash too often, your skin will produce excess oil to try and combat the dryness, which can lead to further breakouts.

You really only need to wash your face once a day unless it's very oily. You can refresh with witchazel; It's an astringent/toner that cleans without drying you out.Is it true that if u wash ur face alot ur face gets grease and you get more acne?
No, that's the opposite. You get rid of grease by washing your face.

BUT, by washing your face you open your pores, making them suseptible to dirt, causing acne.

My advice, splash your face with cold water after washing it. That will close the pores.
NO!

You need to make sure you wash your face a few times a day with some soap. If you use normal tap water without soap then you're not doing your face an justice and you will make things worse.

For more information see this site, you'll find some more answers here.
well washing your face removes all the grease/oil. Over washing takes all the oils out so your pores start making extra which makes more grease. If you use a light weight moisturizer that will not happen.
NO, but alot of the time it drys out your skin and red bumps can appear.

If you're going to wash your face alot..just use a moisturizer, too!

鈾ess
No it's not, washing your face helps get rid of grease. Unless you're using some kind of greasy soap?
nope.. for more info .. can chk ..

  • Help With Murad Face Wash!?

I purchased Murad Face Wash about a week and a half ago. I understand that the wash must break you out more than you are, in order to clean all of the dirt out of your pores. I would like to skip this step, even though it has happened to me already, and I'm breaking out more! Any suggestions? I have extremely oily skin, which has always haunted me. How long does the face wash take to work also. I've heard four weeks to a month. I wouldn't mind the wait if I didn't break out so much while waiting! I'm very impatient, as you can tell lol. Someone help, tell me how I should use the Wash. What foods to stay away from, what I can do to prevent oily skin, etc. I also like to tan. should I stop? So many questions, I apologize, I just really need the answers. Somebody, please?! P.S. My facial hair grows extremely fast, should I shave often, or not?Help With Murad Face Wash!?
salicylic acid (as is what's in murad face wash) does not make you sun sensitive, so yes, you can continue to tan. [i %26lt;3 tanning too.. i still tan even though i AM using a sun sensitive wash haha] murad never worked for me, like you it made my face a lot worse and the initial breakout never cleared up. i think it was just too much for my skin to handle.

now i use oxy face wash in the morning, and a prescription cream (retin a) at night. my skin looks a lot better.

    good luck =)

What kind of face wash do u use?

If u need any tips on how 2 control out-of-control acne....here r the tips that I use!!!!! I just started doing this myself and it totally works! B4 I tried Noxema, Neutrogena, Biore...EVERYTHING! Now this is what I do:

-in the morning use Clean%26amp;Clear. Not sure what its called but its light blue and has dark blue beads on the inside.

-at night use the same Clean%26amp;Clear. Then apply Clean%26amp;Clear lotion. Its in a small bottle and the bottle is white. It's sort of like lotion but it's face cleanser. Then get an Olay product and apply it around your nose so that ur nose doesn't start 2 flake around the edges. Finally use acne-free ANTI BLACKHEAD gel and apply 2 anywhere a zit is or a breakout!

This seriously works. And if u want even better results rinse your face with warm water and wash ur hands before u start this! Then pat dry with a washcloth!!!!!!! Hope this helps all u acne-prone people! It sure helped me and now my skin is very bright! (BTW TRIED PROACTIV DOESNT WORK!)What kind of face wash do u use?
Thanks!Clean%26amp;Clear does work pretty well, and yes,Proactiv doesn't. But,everybody's skin is different, and I like using the Clinique stuff. What kind of face wash do u use?
I use clean and clear facial wash, the like white cream that comes in a dark blue tub. coz it feels tingly on your face and makes it feel real clean.
    Dove works fine for me
I use Aloette. I went to a spa party that sold the products about a year ago and now I will not use anything else. It's a bit pricey, but eBay has some fair prices on their products.
i use clean and clear daily
that's great! But c%26amp;c works differently for everyone's skin. IT doesn't work that great for mine. But if it does for you, keep using it! thanks for sharing
    dove and olay exfoliators.

What kind of face wash do you use? and what do you use it for??

so im just wondering if anyone has had the same situation as me. i have occasional heat rash breakouts and always have acne on my chin.

i have used high end facewash FOREVER! last year i switched off of my clinique, witch was doing nothing for me and got some estee lauder. it helped but didnt eliminate. so i went back to clinique but instead of level 2 i got 3.

i gave up on that too.

so i go to target last week and got nutrogena face wash and it works AWESOME!!!!! my skin looks so freaking awesome!

has this happend to you? what kind of facewash do you use and for what? What kind of face wash do you use? and what do you use it for??
Used to use Murad's anti-acne products, but would still get breakouts on my chin and along my jawline. But it worked well enough.

I switched to products by Lush. I use their Fresh Farmacy soap: http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/00077…

    Imperialis Moisturizer: http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/00303…

and Ocean Salt scrub twice a week: http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/02128…

Their stuff works great on me, and I love the fact it's all natural and not tested on animals.

I wonder if maybe skin gets ';used to'; a product after awhile and it takes using a new product to kind of ';jump start'; your skin. Who knows? What kind of face wash do you use? and what do you use it for??
this hasnt happened to me. i get minimal blemishes and if i do, theyre whiteheads, so you really dont notice. i use oxy face scub and it works well. i also use a face cream called benzaclin to help fight acne all day.
I use SeneGence 3n1 cleanser and exfoliator and toner.

It is for oily skin and has little beads that feel so good. Its a cellular renewal cleanser.
lol yea I've tried all of the cliniqe and proactive lines and what works best for me is a ance stress reliever neutrogena face wash and a biore exfoliator a few times a week, go figure :)
i dive twice a week so the clorine really dries out my skin. i use clearsil when i have rly bad acne. after i dive i use a scrub face wash. when i'm not using ne of those ones i use cetaphil face wash
    VIAGRA
i use this brand called 'follow me' it work wonders

GARNIER Green bottle FACE WASH: Did it break anyone else out?? Help me.?

A little over a week ago I bought the Garnier Nutritioniste facial scrub and cleansing towelettes and I completely switched over to only using them instead of my old face wash. Now I have small tiny white zits on my face! I've never experienced these before....they are just teensy white zits and if I pop them then they just come right back. They are so small that you can hardly see them.....but I want them gone NOW.

How do I do that and has anyone else had a bad experience with Garnier face products??GARNIER Green bottle FACE WASH: Did it break anyone else out?? Help me.?
take about four aspirin and dissolve them in a few drops of water.. add in a squirt of honey and make it into a paste.. you can also add in a few vitamin e capsules if ya like.. this can be used as a scrub, mask if left on for ten minutes, and a spot treatment left on over night..

aspirin has the same active ingredient as pro active..

another thing i do as an exfoliate is i scrub my face with an electric toothbrush.. it's sounds kinda weird but it works.. it really cleans out your pores and removes dead skin, oil and dirt.. you can use any scrub ya like or the aspirin i mentioned.. i like to use st. ives.. and i do it about three times a week..

only wash your face when you wake up in the morning, before you go to bed, and after exercise.. excess washing makes your face produce extra oil..

warm water opens pores and cold closes them.. so wash with warm and rinse with cold..

hope this helps..GARNIER Green bottle FACE WASH: Did it break anyone else out?? Help me.?
I have that problem, too! I never ever break out in pimples - and I started using the Garnier Nutritioniste Detoxifying Gel Cleanser and after a week of using it my skin went NUTS! Report Abuse

My skin is used to different changes in facial washes, too. (I'm used to changing between neutrogena, biore, and clean and clear.) However, after using Garnier Nutritioniste I've received multiple pimples every single week! Report Abuse

I thought I was crazy blaming it on the wash, but at least I know that I'm not the only one who's been experiencing this. Report Abuse

i broke out with garnier pretty badly, the only thing i use of them is the body scrub.
Well i never broke out from using the scrub or the cream cleanser, but it does have a VERY strong smell.Switching Products can sometimes cause pimples.I say Switch to ur old regimen

I just got a new face wash, and now my face looks and feels like its sunburned?

right under my cheeks its bright red and it feels like its sunburned. i got neutrogena pink grapefruit wash and ever since my face is red and painful. it goes kinda away with a little lotion. how can i get rid of it by tomorrow? i have something REALLY important going on.I just got a new face wash, and now my face looks and feels like its sunburned?
You've had an allergic reaction to it. Try popping an antihistamine pill and using some benadryl cream over the redness. Also keep your face cool with an icepack.

    Dove Cooling Foaming Face Wash?

I'm 20 (21 next month) and I've used Clean and Clear face wash off and on for years. I don't usually have a problem with acne, but lately my chin has been breaking out. So, since I've been sweaty (b/c it's so friggin hot here), I've been washing my face more and it's been drying out really bad,

Yesterday I bought some Dove cooling face wash for normal to combination skin (mine's combination). It's the one that smells like cuccumber. Anyway I got it bc it was supposed to be moisturizing, but when I used it, it made my eyes burn and then my face felt reeeeally tight and dry like I'd washed it with bar soap or something.... Should it be doing that?Dove Cooling Foaming Face Wash?
It souns like your skins had a reaction to it, could you be allergic to something in it?

  • What brand of face wash is good for oily that doesn't hydrate my skin?

My face is extremely oily and it really frustrates me. I wash it with a facial cleanser soap and put my makeup on (I don't use liquid makeup cuz it makes my skin more oily). After about 1 hour, my face becomes extremely oily to the point where I have to reapply my makeup after removing excess oil.

What kind of face wash can help control my oily face that won't overhydrate my skin?

Thanks so much! :)What brand of face wash is good for oily that doesn't hydrate my skin?
when you use very drying products, like those made for oily skin, your skin actually starts producing more oil to compensate for being dried out and creates a vicious cycle. Try something gentler than an oily/acne cleanser that is still free of moisturizers. Cetaphil bar soap is a good one. If you're having a problem with acne, I recommend Clinique's Acne Solutions. It's a little pricey but works awesome! good luck. What brand of face wash is good for oily that doesn't hydrate my skin?
Well, I use some stuff called Calmile and it is very natural and very light and wont cause your face to produce oil. Or you can try filling half a cup of salt and the other half with warm water and then dipping a cotton ball in the water for 30-45 seconds and then putting it onto your pimples for exactly 3 minutes and then when you take it off take 2 other cotton balls and put it beside the pimple and slowly bring them closer together and then apply a small amout of honey over it and then go to bed. Cleaning and toneing are also important and drink lots of water (4-8 glasses a day) thats what i do and its free :) It really works!
    Lola,

You can use any number of things to wash your face that will work well. Please believe me when I tell you, it's not the cleanser that makes the difference. It's the LACK of hydration. Since you're probably using things that are drying out your skin, your sebacious glands are overcompensating for the lack of moisture. I know this sounds counter-intuitive BUT you really have to moisturize. I promise you that if you clean your face thoroughly at night and apply a lightweight moisturizer to your WET skin--just dab it on lightly %26amp; let it dry naturally (don't rub it off with a towel), you'll find that your oil production will adjust. Really, just try it for a week--I guarantee it'll work :-)
I have naturally oliy skin and I use Noxzema. The stuff works on my mild acne and takes care of the extra oil, but once you start using it you can't stop. You have to use it at least three times a week, if you stop your face will look horrible. At least it's cheap, you can buy it a any local drug store.
Sounds like you have a real problem in your hands. I don't think over the counter solutions are for you, consult a dermatologist, she'll probably recomment accutane (google it), meanwhile, use a cleanser with either salicilic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Neutrogena acne cleanser is a good one to try, but again may not prove right for you.
I used Biore and that stuff seems to make my breakouts even worse. Burt's Bees tomato complexion soap controls oil and I use it morning and night and it doesn't dry my face at all and my face is a lot less oily during the day. I also use eyeslipsface.com blotting papers, its $1.00 for 50 sheets and they work just as good as the $9 drugstore brands.
Anything with Salicylic Acid. I suggest Biore. I love their face washes!
I know the right one for you!!!

Clean and Clear CREAM WASH. It's non foaming but has salicylic acid. It doesn't dry your skin out and aggravate it.

    Here's my long answer too...

THIS IS MY LONG ANSWER FOR ALL OILY SKIN/ACNE PROBS...TRYING TO COVER ALL I KNOW ABOUT ACNE/SPOT PROBLEMS FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE...SO HOPEFULLY THERE'LL BE SOMETHING HERE TO HELP!!! SOME MIGHT NOT BE RELEVANT DEPENDING ON YOUR SEX BUT I HOPE SOMETHING'LL BE HERE FOR YOU!

I'm 35 and I still get spots/pimple clusters from time to time and even when they go, they leave reddish marks for ages and my skin looks blotchy.

I use clean and clear or neutrogena clear skin - both contain salicylic acid which prevents breakouts and gradually evens the skin tone out too.

Any female with spots I'd recommend trying dianette or yasmin contraceptive pills because if it's hormonal, that can sort out the kind of hormonal pimples you might get monthly!

Also I'd recommend taking a 100% multi vitamin/mineral complex and Omega 369 oils every day because that ensures you're getting the right nutrition and also, the omega oils improve blood flow.

Also...keep your hydration right by drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffeine and alcohol and too much salt!

Another suggestion is the scrub you can get called 'resurface' or something like that - made by L'oreal. You only use it a couple of times a week (and use at night because it makes your face red!). It really works not just with the colouring but also the texture - smoothes it back out. It comes with it's own moisturiser which I don't use but I use the scrub at night a couple of times a week and put bio oil on which it supposed to help clear scarring and even skin tone.

And my final suggestion is 'sheer cover' mineral foundation. You see it on infomercials a lot...tacky I know! But it really works. You can buy it on eBay too so it's easy for you to get some to try it out. You use the tiniest amount but because it doesn't settle into enlarged pores and it contains minerals that reflect light, it disguises any kind of 'scarring' and also it stops you getting spots because it doesn't block pores. The minerals in it reflect light a bit too which acts as a kind of concealer. It's hard to explain but it's fantastic. Just make sure not to use too much - and apply with a kabuki brush starting from the outside and working in so you don't end up with an over made up nose!

I know people say make up's a no no - but because this doesn't block pores and has the added effect of stopping you touching your face too much, I think it's good. You can wear it on its own too and as long as you apply it minimally, it covers but doesn't look like you've got make up on.

Good luck with it hun XX

PS - if you can get them, clean %26amp; clear do these blotting paper things - in the uk I find I have to order them in from Hong Kong or somewhere cos they stopped doing them here - but they're REALLY good.

And if your face gets really greasy, just blot with a tissue if you can't find those. Some tissues are to fluffy so I tend to carry around a few sheets of kitchen roll for the purpose!!!

PPS - If you get your skin relatively under control, try using '21 day Fade Cream' (which I get from eBay) because it quickly clears up any scarring. I can only use it once a day though because otherwise (even though it's a 'cream-gel') it can make my skin a bit greasy again so I tend to use that at night but only during periods that my skin's doing 'good'!

    Oxy face wash question?

does it work tell me about your experiance with itOxy face wash question?
i have used it before and it dried my skin out and gave me more spots than what i started from, but that was just me, what works for someone might not work for someone else.

i use the Simple range now and it works great for me.Oxy face wash question?
These kind of products will help clean your face but don't expect miracles.

    There are some excellent meds on the market. Go see your doctor. There is a drug called roaccutane that contains some loverly chemicals (originally use in the treatment of brain cancer) that are miraculous with such skin conditions. If you don't have full on acne then you have to play up the emotional effects... ';Im so depressed i don't want to got to school/college i cant even look at boys/girls.';

In 83% of cases acne is no longer something anyone needs to suffer from.

    Good luck.

(almost forgot) skin scars easily so if you dont want to be left with blotchy skin dont squeeze
Ive tried them all they just dryed out my skin

biore and clinique products have worked quite well on my skin
    Thx

    Switching face wash..?

I've been using proactive for about 3 months now, and it's not really doing anything for my skin anymore, i was wanting to switch to a lesser harsh face wash. I have some pretty bad blackheads on my nose, and a few acne scars on my forehead. Does anyone know of any good face washes? And will doing this cause me to break out even more?Switching face wash..?
    i personally use noxima %26amp; clean%26amp;clear

    both brands work great !:)

also consider getting a good face cream

%26amp; by usign a new product your skin may have a reaction or irritation , is so you shouldnt continue use of the new product

    Foundation & face wash?

    a) i need a foundation thats light enough 2 wear every day but will still give me good coverage %26amp; wont make my skin break out

    b) is there a face wash that evens skin tone/texture also reduces %26amp; tightens pores?Foundation %26amp; face wash?
dermalogica wash... and l'oreal coverupFoundation %26amp; face wash?
clinique wont make your skin break out...

again, clinique has good skin care product for young people
For an all in one, easy to use, no mess mineral foundation I use Philosophy: The Supernatural. It has no parabens which can clog your pores. Plus it has only about five ingredients, one being a natural SPF. I have sensitive/ combination skin so I went for a Burt's Bees cream based facial cleanser - it deep cleans without striping your face and the ingredients are as natural as they come. The Garden Tomato Toner sounds weird, but performs amazingly on skin texture and tone. I'm a huge fan of that product line because I have tested a lot of things and it's the only one that caters to my skin without breaking my wallet!
i use maybelline, i find it doesnt make me breakout and last a long time. its cheap and good
To create a flawless looking foundation, follow these tgcosmetics.com steps to learn the art of skin preparation and applying foundation correctly to create a beautiful look.

    1. Wash your face

Always start with a clean face. Wash, don鈥檛 rub, with a good facial cleanser. Be gentle. Rinse well to remove all the cleanser.

Be sure to shave before you apply your makeup to ensure a smooth application. When shaving use a gel or moisturizing shave cream to allow for the closest possible shave without nicks and abrasions. Foundations can cause itching if you have shaving cuts or tiny skin abrasions. Apply a toner to refresh skin. Allow 30 minutes for your skin to recover before you applying your makeup.

If you have 10-15 minutes, enjoy a relaxing bath while wearing a tgcosmetics natural clay masque. The natural clay, Kaolin, draws impurities out of clogged pores and minimizes the pore size and helps tighten and refine skin so that makeup goes on smoother and easier. Using a mask gives skin a firmer texture.

    2. Shaving

A smooth surface is important for a successful makeup application. Shaving right after a hot shower is best because the heat and water hydrates the skin, dilates the blood vessels which open the pores and makes the hair more pliable and easier to cut. Consider using a swivel-head razor and or twin blades for getting a smooth shave. Use a conditioning shave cream and toner to ensure a smooth shave that leaves skin in good condition.

If you are not planning to shower before you shave, wrap a hot, moist towel over your face and neck for about two minutes before you shave. Use hot water, not scalding water to create lather for shaving and keep water and lather hot during the entire shaving process. Examine your face closely before shaving to determine the direction that your facial and neck hair grows.

It is important to begin your shave with the hair growth rather than against the direction that the hair grows. Shaving first in the direction that the hair grows cuts 80% of the hair and avoids razor burns, ingrown hairs and irritations. Then lather a second time and shave against the hair growth to get a closer shave, starting from your neck working up to cheeks, under nose and chin. Don't apply too much pressure to the razor, this can cause razor burn and doesn't give your a closer shave.

After you are finished shaving, rinse your face and neck with cold water to refresh skin and tighten pores. Pat dry, don't rub face dry. use styptic pencil or moistened alum block to stop any bleeding from nicks. The process of shaving removes a very thin layer from the skin surface so it is important to apply a fragrance-free, alcohol-free toner such as tgcosmetics Vitamin C toner pads, to soothe, nourish, moisturize skin, boost skin tone and help generate new cell growth. Let skin settle down for 5-10 minutes before proceeding with your next application step.

    3. Moisturize your face

Before applying makeup, apply a non-greasy facial moisturizer. This creates a thin layer of cream to keep your skin's natural moisture in. Blot off excess moisturizer leaving a fine layer on your skin. Wait a few minutes before applying any makeup.

Be sure that you are using the same light in which you will be wearing your makeup. If it鈥檚 evening use electric light, if it鈥檚 for daytime, use sunlight. It does make a difference.

    4. Apply foundation

Foundation creates a base by smoothing out the surface of your skin. It allows your makeup to adhere more evenly. If your face is smooth and stubble free, a liquid foundation such as tgcosmetics Aloe liquid foundation can be applied to give a natural, even skin tone. Check for the right shade match to your skin tone by applying it in a streak from your lower cheek to your upper neck and blend in evenly with a dabbing motion. Latex sponge wedges are great for applying foundation. Avoid trying to smooth-over bumps or wrinkles. This will result in caking.

Even after shaving, the hair shadow can show beneath the makeup. If this happens you will need to use a thicker cream cover foundation or a pan cover foundation.

When coverage needs more help, we recommend tgcosmetics Stage Foundation ( low oil content) or tgcosmetics CoverBlend Concealing Treatment Foundation which is a highly opaque, smudge-proof creme specifically formulated to give excellent coverage to even out discoloration and hide beard shadow and to create a flawless skin tone. Both of these products work well with oily skin types.

Use the heavier foundation on beard and mustache areas and where skin tone is uneven and/or to cover blemishes. Choose the shade that most closely matches your skin tone. Practice using it before you actually go out in public with it on.

If you decide to have electrolysis performed on your face, you will only need liquid foundation. Liquid foundations can provide the best and most natural look. If you are considering electrolysis, try a topical anesthetic cream. We recommend our product, Ela-MAX4%. It desensitizes the skin which results in a more comfortable procedure. You鈥檒l find it in thetgcosmetics.com Rx Skin Care section of our site.

When using heavier foundation, use a thick blend of the tgcosmetics Extra Coverage Stage Foundation or CoverBlend and liquid foundation over your beard and mustache and uneven skin color areas. Use the liquid foundation over heavier foundation on your upper cheeks, nose, eyes and forehead. Make sure the tgcosmetics pan Stage Foundation or CoverBlend and the liquid foundation are close in tone and basic color. A common mistake is not blending makeup evenly. Remember to blend, blend, blend.

When using liquid foundation, dab small dots onto your face across forehead, cheeks, chin, nose and neck first. Then blend with fingers or a tgcosmetics latex makeup sponge to spread the foundation out evenly. Push foundation gently into skin, don't smear it.

Don鈥檛 make the layer too thick. If you need to make the application thinner, wet the sponge. Cover your entire face with foundation, including around the edges of the lips.

A common mistake is to forget to apply foundation to your neck area. When applying makeup you should always consider your neck a part of your face. Also cover exposed areas such as your shoulders and chest so that your complexion will have an overall even tone, Makeup will stain clothing, so be careful to avoid areas where clothing will rub against makeup. Seeing makeup stains on clothing ruins the illusion of a natural look.

After foundation is applied, wait for 3-4 minutes to allow your makeup to settle onto skin.

    5. Next, use concealer/corrector

At this point, you will use concealer tint over foundation to correct, even out your skin tone, hide imperfections, highlight and add contour to your features.

We recommend tgcosmetics four-tone or five-tone corrector to correct, neutralize or counteract sallow, ruddy red, dark or blue undertones, hide imperfections and even out unsightly blemishes and discoloration.

Dark - accents, contours and recedes

Light - highlighting and bringing areas forward.

Orange - counters beard and blue tones.

Yellow - counters dark areas, blemishes, under eye circles and discoloration.

Mint- neutralize red tones and broken capillaries

Lavender - counters yellow and sallow areas

Use the concealer in thin layers alone, over or under foundation to carefully touch-up and accent face to emphacize curves and conceal imperfections. Dark tint contours the face, the orange tine can counter beard areas, yellow evens our dark coloration and uneven skin and light highlights and brings features forward. Use the light tint as a highlighter tone to bring out your cheekbones, forehead, and brow bones. Mint counters reddish areas and Lavender counters yellow and sallow areas. It also lessens facial lines around the mouth and outer coners of the eyes. Here, careful blending and smoothing is VERY important to perfect the illusion of shape. Be sure there are no defining lines between shades.

    6. Press in loose powder

Loose powder is better to use than pressed powder because leaves a smoother finish. Powder also softens the overall appearance. Using loose powder over your foundation makes your makeup to last much longer. Choose a shade slightly lighter than your foundation. tgcosmetics offers translucent loose powder in light, medium light, medium. medium dark and dark.

TIP: Use the powder puff or soft cloth rather than a brush to apply tgcosmetics loose powder. Gently press powder into your foundation with a pressing/rolling motion. The pressing action will push the powder into the foundation to set and soften the look. DO NOT RUB across your face. Rubbing powder onto your foundation will cause smear marks to show up later.

    Clinique face wash?

has anyone one used this i would like bothe positiveand negitive reviewsClinique face wash?
    its goodClinique face wash?
I tried the facewash and system in type three as recommended by the sales assistant. It was ok but nothing like the dramatic results I was expecting. Also it doesn't remove make up so this was a downside for me. I would recommend getting a sample, Clinique are usually pretty good about those. This way you haven't spent too much if it doesn't work.
I've used it and truthfully it's not worth the money in my opinion. I get the same results from Wal Mart brands.
I currently use this system (Skin Type II) and I think it's pretty good. The face wash cleans my skin thoroughly, and does not leave it dry. In fact, I tend to think my face feels smoother after washing and it leaves no weird residue. I have both the liquid and the regular bar, but I prefer the liquid. I think it's a matter of personal taste since my face feels the same with either face soaps.

I use the toner and moisturizer as well. The toner tends to overdry my skin, especially my cheeks, but the moisturizer softens it up quite nicely. I tend to be cheap on the moisturizer around my T-zone since it oils up easily.

  • Best face wash..........?

Ive got really bad acne and I really need a good face wash!!!

Ive already used Clean and Clear and it doesn't work for me!!

Any suggestions on what face wash I should use?

Please don't suggest Proactiv.Best face wash..........?
I would say Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. If you want to spend a little more, then Biologique Recherche Lait U Botanica Cleansing Milk or OMG MURAD CLARIFYING SKIN CLEANSER!!! The Murad feels AMAZING!! You can feel the bacteria being eliminated.Best face wash..........?
Try using Neutrogena. That and St. Ives *medicated* apricot scrub works well for me. Neutrogena makes a three-step kit you can get most everywhere that has scrub, night treatment and a daily moisturizer. It's a little more pricey but worked wonders for me. Keep in mind you have to use a face wash for a few weeks to see any real results. They seldom work overnight. Also, using a face wash my itself might not be enough.

If you use the same over the counter product for about a month and don't see results, try another one. If after trying three or four different products none give you results, I would suggest going to a dermatologist.
My sister has acne but i've managed to fight it off over the years. The thing that worked really well for me was St Ives apricto scrub for oily/acne prone skin. This stuff makes your skin feel soo smooth its amazing =) but DON'T scrub too hard or you'll aggrivate your skin and make it red. Be gentle =)

The best part is that it's not expensive. Maybe $10? =)

Also, use Witch Hazel toner followed by Johnsons Clean and Clear oil free moisturiser.

Give this a go for a month or two and i guarentee you resutls =)

also....important: drink LOTS of water (amazing), avoid sugary and oily foods, and exercise =)

You'll be crystal clear in no time.
NOTE鈥 HAVE WRITTEN THIS LONG ANSWER TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS RELATING TO BECAUSE THEY COME UP SO OFTEN:

    OILY SKIN

    ACNE

    FACIAL LIGHTENING

    DEALING WITH ACNE SCARRING

    DEALING WITH STRETCH MARKS

    IMPROVING SKIN TONE

    PIMPLES

    BLACKHEADS

    EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT

    INGROWING HAIRS

    BODY ACNE

鈥HE INFO鈥橲 BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE. I鈥橫 36 NOW SO I鈥橵E HAD TO DEAL WITH THESE ISSUES FOR QUITE A WHILE AND THOUGH MUCH OF THIS ANSWER MAY BE IRRELEVANT, I HOPE THERE'LL BE SOMETHING THAT CAN HELP YOU!

    GOOD LUCK!!!

RECOMMENDED SKIN CARE鈥 use clean and clear cream wash (good for sensitive skin or those that dry to easy) or Neutrogena clear skin make up remover wash. Both contain salicylic acid which prevents breakouts and gradually evens the skin tone out too. This is the most important thing you can do. I鈥檝e tried various 鈥榦il free鈥?鈥檚alicylic acid鈥?moisturisers but the best I鈥檝e found is the clean and clear on鈥 found the Neutrogena one actually seemed to aggravate my skin.

EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT!...The toothpaste things works! Put on a blob at night and put a bit of tissue over it so it doesn't make a mess. It cools the area down and reduces the inflammation. I also recommend the clean and clear advantage spot treatment gel.

HORMONAL SPOTS鈥ny female with spots I'd recommend trying dianette or yasmine contraceptive pills because if it's hormonal that can sort everything out within weeks鈥hough it can take a couple of months to get used to the pill.

FACIAL ACNE: AVOID鈥on't use harsh scrubs and peroxide products daily like some people do; that can dry your skin and make produce MORE oil...just exacerbating the problem. Many face packs I鈥檝e tried and those blackhead removal strips too seem to have caused problems.

I鈥檝e also had problems with those 鈥榝acial wipes鈥?made by clean and clear and Neutrogena because they鈥檙e too drying and when the top layer鈥檚 too dry, the oil gets stuck underneath and causes more problems!

Some say chocolate doesn鈥檛 affect it鈥t does for me and I don鈥檛 know how or why that should be but certain foods do seem to affect break out. Coffee is one of those things that seems to aggravate my skin too. So look out for anything you eat that might be making it worse.

HAIR PRODUCTS鈥e careful what products you use in your hair if it's long - certain conditioners have causes me to break out at times. Also be careful of hair gels, hair sprays and serums.

INGROWING HAIRS鈥or men or women鈥f you have oily skin, these are more likely. For men鈥se a facial scrub and avoid moisturisers that don鈥檛 have salicylic acid in them if you use a moisturiser. Some hair conditioners are much better lubricants than shaving cream too 鈥?so you might want to try that, and then was afterwards with a clean and clear was etc. Also I recommend the microdermabrasion kit mentioned later.

For women鈥axing seems to cause the main problem 鈥?we pay most attention to our faces. Waxing seems to be the main culprit as opposed to shaving or hair removal creams鈥o avoid in-growing hairs, make sure to exfoliate. I recommend using those exfoliating gloves 鈥?that way, you can use any kind of shower gel.

NUTRITION鈥 recommend taking a 100% multi vitamin/mineral complex 鈥?those little spots you get around your mouth can be due to a vitamin b deficiency for example. Also I recommend Omega 369 oils every day because they improve blood flow.

OLD WIVES TALE??...It's an 'old wives tale' type remedy - but a spoonful of cider vinegar and honey in hot water 3 times a day is meant to help EVERYTHING. It tastes nice too...kinda like honey and lemon X

HYDRATION鈥?Keep your hydration right by drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffeine and alcohol and too much salt!

DEALING WITH SCARRING鈥here鈥檚 an excellent micro-dermabrasion scrub called 鈥榬e-finish鈥? by L'oreal.

If you get your skin relatively under control, try using '21 days Fade Cream' (which I get from eBay) because it quickly clears up any scarring. It鈥檚 a skin lightening cream and is very effective as long as your skin type agrees with it. Bio oil is a good alternative!

Also, to detract from the colour variations in your skin tone, I recommend using Benefit鈥檚 Posie Tint or Benetint lipstain 鈥?this can be put on your cheeks and lips (which also makes your teeth look whiter as an added bonus). Lipstain is better than lipstick because it doesn鈥檛 smudge and it stays on; you can put lip balm or lip gloss on over it. Also, if you use it (SPARINGLY) on your cheeks, it is just like putting water on there; it doesn鈥檛 aggravate the skin or cause breakouts.

    LI
definitely Clearasel! it is AWESOME, i have only no acne on my face because i used it every day.

The pads work really well, and you can actually see the dirt when you wipe your face off.

The face mask it really good to. you use it in the shower, once or twice a day.
3 tea spoons full of lemon juice,1 tea spoon of glycerin, mix them well, keep in a glass bottle, take few drops out of it,massage your face for few 3 minutes, and wash your face with cold water,do it 2/3 times a day and see the result within a week.
depends.. exactly how are you washing your face?? i mean when and how often and what else do you use!!?!

and what other things are you doing.. like touching your face or smoking pot!!?! hahahh

    ***

UGH!! i hate proactiv.. i tried that $hit years ago when it first came out aand yeah.. it totally sucked
I use clean and clear daily scrub. I use it once a day and its worked brilliant. Hope this helps :) x
You should try and use clean and clear the acne cleanser, The one in the big purple bottle.
WASH YOUR FACE WITH ONLY COLD WATER 5/7 TIMES A DAY... DRINK LOTS OF WATER EVERY DAY.DON'T USE ANY CREAMS, BCZ IT CONTAINS OILS AND CHEMICALS.

    A New Cure For Pimples

I hope this works, but probably not on all skin types. It's just mostly to cure acne.

1/2 a cup of baking soda (or flour)

1/2 a cup of water (add more if it isn't creamy enough)

    1/2 a cucumber, grated

2 slices of cucumber or apple

    1 Tbsp. of honey

    By Michelle

Apple Zinger Face Mask ( oily skin and acne)

    The Ingredients

    1 medium size apple (grated)

    5 tablespoons of honey

    The Instructions

Mix the grated apple and mix with honey to make a mask. Smooth over skin then let sit for 10 minutes, rinse off with cool water.

    Milk Mask

    You鈥檒l need:

    Milk

    1/2 Cup Besan Flour

    What you do:

Combine the ingredients until it鈥檚 a hearty paste. Refrigerate for a few hours. Smooth the mixture over face and let it set for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with a warm damp washcloth. Then splash on cool water to close skin pours. A benefit from this mask is a tightening sensation.

    Exfoliating Mask

    You鈥檒l need:

    egg whites

    oatmeal

    What you do:

Mix ingredients, slap on for five minutes. Let egg whites dry. Rinse with water. Voila! The oatmeal exfoliates dead skin, and works wonders when you scrub it on. Egg whites soften and smooth dry skin gently.

    Moisturizing Honey and Lemon

    You鈥檒l need:

    I TBSP honey (room temperature)

    1 Tsp. lemon juice

Blend. Apply for 30 min, rinse with warm water. One plus is it鈥檚

    moisturizing effect

    Honey and Oatmeal mask

    You鈥檒l need

    Honey

    Oatmeal

Equally mix in oatmeal and honey leave on for 15 min. Rinse with warm water and then cold.

    For All Skin Types

    You鈥檒l need:

    1/2 c chopped cucumber

    2 tsp. powdered milk

    1 egg white

Blend to a smooth paste and apply in upwards motions to face and neck. Let dry on face for 30 min. Rinse with warm water
Not sure, but clean and clear works wonders
    yeah it worked for me!
I don't think so. I mean, most of these cream names are just for advertising. But there are a fair few that work. Just try it. If it doesn't work, so what?

i like st.ives invigorating face wash
    Pro Active works so well

    which one is better?

    neutrogena oil free acne wash

    or

    neutrogena clear pore cleanswer/mask

p.s im talking for a face wash

    THANKSWhat face wash? neutrogena?
Why Neutrogena? Neutrogena actually doesn't work that well for people. Try Olay or Pond's.

But according to the names, I'd say Neutrogena clear pore cleansewear/mask. If ur pores are clean and free of dirt/oil, u wudnt get acnes in the 1st place. What face wash? neutrogena?
omg i have both and thay're awesome. clearasil and st.ives dried out my face and didn't work but the neutrogena oil free acne wash worked!!! btw it works better on people with oily skin coz after u wash ur face it will feel smooth and soft. i have been using it for like 6 months now and so far it's good and i always run out to buy one when i run out.

the wash is so far good i bought it last week i use it as a mask only so i've used it once but my review is so far so good.

both are good and very cheap!!
    The mask one.
    i say the mask one

    Everyday face wash/cream/lotion/?

whats the best everyday face wash or lotion, creams, etc that uve found to keep ur face looking smooth and healthy + pimple free. just sumthing u can pickup in walmart or sumthing. (nothing that like $15 just sumthing to keep my skin perdy). thanks in advance :-)Everyday face wash/cream/lotion/?
Neutrogena healthy skin face lotion with alpha hydroxy acid and spf 15. This is the best brand. Or cetaphill is really good also. They are both highly recommended.Everyday face wash/cream/lotion/?
I use the St. Eves Apricot Scrub, witch hazel for toning, and Eucerin Q10 for my daily moisturizer.
I have sensitive skin and Olay's products are the only things that don't make me break out. Also I put honey on my face at night and it really helps calm my skin and keep it clear. And it's cheap!
usually the clean and clear stuff works amazing. it has different types for different skin types and is pretty cheap ($5-$6)... it also smells pretty decent!!

    鈾essica!
I have always sworn by Neutrogena oil free acne wash. Olay makes great moisturizers that smell nice and are non greasy and won't make you break out.

    Liquid Face Wash?

What is a soap made from and why has it got a bad name lately. Everybody prefers liquid face washes but all of them are full of sodium or ammonium laureth sulphate that is extremely harmful.Worse,SLS can be made from natural/organic origin so we dont know how safe are herbal cleansers.what is the dermatologists view on this?I am looking for the safest, fragrance free cleanser for dry skin that may be derm recommended.Liquid Face Wash?
Soap is mostly made of tensioactives (like a detergent) that break down the lipidic barrier. That is why soap can be drying. Sodium and ammonium laureth sulphate are also tensioactives but they are not harmful! They are just drying, but they cleanse properly. The mildest cleanser is Cetaphil cleansing lotion (the regular one, not the one for oily skin), even after a peeling you can safely use it.Liquid Face Wash?
I personally use Beauticontrol products- but if you are looking for store bought cleanser- my backup is PURPOSE by Johnson %26amp; Johnson. Liquid-soap-free, Hypoallergenic. I get it at Target.
Soap is ment for the body. If people have acne prone face then their skin reacts to soap differently %26amp; also they may have more sensitive skin on their face. Liquid face washes are mad specially for each facial skin type. Theres ones for dry, sensitive, oily, acne prone, and resistant skin etc. I tried using dove on my face and i use it for my body all the time. My face was fine the first few washes, but afterwards i started to get this extremely dry skin. it was cracking and even tough to smile through it so i switched back to what i always use to use neutrogena facial scrub. I love it's exfoliating power and it gives excellent defence over any present or about to come acne. You can get cleansers that are more natural, but you just need to whatch the product's ingredients. There are pretty harsh ingredients in some soaps to so yea.
I don't use any of that stuff that has all that junk in it. I use ';Arbonne'; it has all natural ingredients in their skin care/make up. They don't use any harsh chemicals, SLS, animal products (like petroletum,etc..) You can find them on the internet. Very good company... a little pricey though...but worth it!

Elizabeth Ardin green tea 3-in-1 cleanser, toner, exfoliator. Leaves skin fresh!
my favorite is ROC daily microdermabrasion cleansing disks. one side scrubs and the other side is soft. they make my skin SO smooth and soft! i was a little afraid to use them at first because i have very sensitive skin, but they didn't even dry my face out. the soft side takes off eye make-up, too.

    Nutragena face wash?

has anyone one used this i would like bothe positiveand negitive reviewsNutragena face wash?
Its perfect. It causes you zits to dry up as if you were using colgate. but it doesnt dry you skin and it works really fast. and its so cheap i would reccomend it 100% thats what i use for my skin. make sure you use it everyday to make sure the zits stay away. and it prevents oily skin. that pretty cool.Nutragena face wash?
I love Nutragena its the only face wash ill buy. it works great :] i mean its not lik pro-active (which is best out there) but Nutragena the 2nd on the list of best face wash. you just got to get certain ones. I think the Nutrgena face clothes work the best. There clothes that have face wash in them that help scrub off the dirt on your face, there $6.00
It worked great. I have the Advanced Solution Complete Acne Therapy System. My face NEVER feels oily after I use it. My only complaint is that I have been using it for about 1 month, andit still has'nt COMPLETELY cleared it up.
it makes me break out i wouldnt recomend it.
yah i use it its actually really good!

its pretty much all i use in the morning and night

    Good Luck! :)
the face wash was great for me. my face felt very clean after

    and not at all oily.
I've tried that stuff and it'll just dry out your skin (which happens to make acne worse) but the biore wash that heats up works well.

Try Clinique's 4 step acne regime.

I use Clinique and they have all types of different packages for different kinds of skin.

If you go to www.sephora.com and under brands choose clinique, its on the right side of the screen, on the clinique page, in the middle of the page there is a set called Clinique acne collection.

You can actually customize your regime so your skin won't dry out.

To do this, on the right side of the Clinique page there is a collection that says Must Haves, and its the first set of products, if you click on them you'll have lots of choices.

You'll just have to find your way around and find what you want.

There is a ton of information on the products.

    Good luck!
When I was in High School I had the same issue. A Geoffrey Beene book suggested washing with plain soap and water 3-4 times a day. The trick was to NOT scrub, gently wash, and then splash the rinse water on your face from the basin. It worked much better than all of the drying acne creams and astringents I'd tried. It is critical to keep the 3-4 times a day routine though, at least until your skin stops producing the oils as you get older. (Also, don't stress over your skin, stress causes additional breakouts. Love yourself the way you are).
I myself use proactiv and it is great for clearing up acne. its not so great when i have one big pimple but for small red bumps and other acne, its a miracleworker!
Try using Noxzema I have your same skin type and it works great for me!
Neutrogena Oil- Free acne Wash is great and cheap I use it.

    Proactive face wash?

Does proactive really work, cause some of my friends say it only works for certain people

Proactive didn't work for me and makes my face worse.

But it does work for my boyfriend. He had a pretty good complexion anyway, but it does keep his face looking great all the time.

i have minor oli skin but it made it ten times worse

it is true it only works for some

and i am trying to find other brands

2 people have told me to go to this wesite

Most acne products only treat the symptoms and not the source. They even make your skin dry, sensitive. Prolonged use can even lead to premature aging and other health issues.

The main causes of acne is toxins build up in the body and clogged pores caused by excessive oil and deadskin cells. THese provide a fertile ground for acne to spread and thrive.

To effectively fight acne and prevent acne from coming back, you have to attack acne from inside the body as well as outside on the skin. So, look for an acne product that fights acne internally as well as externally. They should also contains natural ingredients since they're more safer to use and has less side effects.

There are also things you can do at home to get rid of acne. Take actions to detoxify your body and take care of your skin and soon, you will permanently end your acne and have clear, radiant, beautiful skin!

For the next couple of weeks, stick to the regimen below:

-Drink a glass of warm water with lemon and honey in the morning and evening

-Drink lots of water throughout the day to flush out the toxins

-Drink at least 3 cups of green tea a day - green tea contains antibacterial properties to kill the bacteria

-Try to do some exercise so you can sweat out all the toxins. Also, try to do meditation

-Eat as many apples as you can. You should buy organic apples at Wholefood. Dont buy apples at local supermarket. Supermarket apples contain pesticides that can toxify your body

    -Eat oatmeal for breakfast

-Eat 2 cups of yogurt a day - yogurt boost ur immune system and contain microbiotic organisms that help your digestive system and control the acid/yeast

-Eat lots of green veggies (organic if possible)

-Stay away from coffee, sugar, carbohydrates, fatty and fried food

-Eat salmon and cantaloupe as much as possible

-Wash your face in morning and evening with gentle cleanser, use natural toner, and follow up with oil-free moisturizer

yeah i know what you mean but i use clean and clear they have a kit for like $20 that with every thing u need or just get a wash then i would use some fondation or conciler (yeah i know bad spelling but whatever) also ask ur mom, older sis, aunt ect..also use google to find some beauty websites if u dont want to ask family I do that all the time

    hope i helped

    XDXDXD
I use products with benzoyl peroxide as the active/main ingredient. I stay away from salicylic acid.
I would use proactive if you have mild to moderate acne. If it is severe you might need to go to the dermatologist.
St Ives apricot scrub $4 at wallmart. Really Works! Removes dead skin, unclogs pores. Prevents and removes pimples and blackheads.
When I started breaking out I tried various products before learning that sulfur is a great product for acne breakouts. I tried Pro Activ but I found it to be too expensive and too drying, but I used the sulfur mask by Pro Active and a facial soap that has been the only effective product I have used. It is called Sulpho-lac and it's expensive for a facial bar but it is very effective if used properly, it is also difficult to find, so I suggest stocking up. Most retailers can't keep this product on the shelves. http://www.dermstore.com/searchsite.php?鈥?/a>
Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne. Check out http://totalskincare-s.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

NEUTROGENA FACE WASH! HELP HELP HELP HELPP?

Neutrogena oil free acne wash versus Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser, which one is better?????

In terms of acne and face care.

Also, does your face react badly when you switch cleansers right away?NEUTROGENA FACE WASH! HELP HELP HELP HELPP?
i prefer oil free ance wash, also my face does not recat at all when i switch cleansers right awayNEUTROGENA FACE WASH! HELP HELP HELP HELPP?
If my skin was oily I would use the oil free.

I would use the deep clean if I had Black Heads/white heads.

When I had acne I was my face with the soap getting lots of suds on my face. I then left it on until it dried. Then I would take a hot wash cloth and rinse my face. Every night before going to bed. Watch out for chocolate candy and soda. Water, Water and you will have a healthy glow..
which ever one sounds better to your skin... lol no it should react at all lol its still like the same brand and i mean neutrogena isnt that hurtful at all
i use the deep clean cream. its good its tingley/cold feeling in a good way at first when you start using it but it makes my face soft. i havent used the other stuff sorry. hope i helped :)

I'm not quite sure, i've never used either but i use neutrogena oil-free acne stress face wash/scrub and it doesn't work at all for me. Same with the acne medicine that goes with it. So, i wouldn't recommend either of those neutrogena products. But it depends on your skin and acne, some things work for certain people and not others.

    Best face wash?

besides proactive what is the best face wash to get rid of acne???Best face wash?
    neutrogenaBest face wash?
Proactive isn't that great..it's harsh on your skin and it drys it..

it's best to use a cleanser that deep cleans and is gentle and does not overly dry out your skin such as Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser. It's for oily and acne prone skin; I use it myself and it works well for me. For your acne...Tea tree oil works very well.. you can find it at The Body Shop.
    proactiv
Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask. Great stuff. I can't use it because I am very allergic to benzoyl peroxide, but my husband uses it and it is really clearing his face up. He has used everything from Accutane to Proactive, nothing worked except this stuff!
It's not a wash (although they do make it in wash form), but I use Oxy Pads. Alcohol and salicyclic acid are the main chemicals contained in the pads. I like them because they are non-prescription, convenient and quick to use, inexpensive (about $3-$4 for a package of 90 pads), accessible (available from every supermarket or convenience store), and effective.

I hope you find something that works for you. ~Good luck!~ :)
Ive had horrible acne for years, the only thing that worked was a good inexpensive OTC face wash that I randomly picked up one day when i was at wits end with my problem, since then, I've seen a 75% reduction, and I only get redness around when i get my period. I use Noxema for Oily/Combination skin, it's amazing, they have a lot of diffrent kinds too for dry and normal. But this one worked best for me
Cetaphil to wash face (I like the bar more than liquid) then before bed use oxy directly on bad spots.
You don't just need face wash to get rid of your acne, you also need creams and gels and stuff.

But the top selling cleanser at Sephora is ';Purity Made Simple';.
Everyone's skin is different and everyones reason for acne is different. There is no one thing that will work for everyone under any condition. Try to read some reviews to see what seems to work best for most people and start there. Also try to find the cause of the acne.
Neutrogena Oil - Free Acne Wash....I use it every day and it works really well for me.

Should i wash my face before or after dance class... or both???

i just got the dove facial cloths and i dont know if i should wash before and after my dance class or just after?? or just before!

    Both

Before cause you're gonna sweat in class, at least if you actually do stuff lol, and you don't want your makeup going everywhere and your face will just feel better when you're sweating if you do not have makeup on

And also after cause you need to clean the sweat off.Should i wash my face before or after dance class... or both???
    after
If you wear make up then before and after. Before because you dont want your make up to smear and look all gross and after because your face will be all sweaty.

  • Should you wash your face before, during, or after you take a shower?

I used to wash my face a lot. Sometimes before the shower, sometimes after, sometimes while in it... always before I went to bed, and it seemed no matter how much I washed it my face seemed always to be so blotchy looking. One day I decided to stop all the face washing and all the scrubbing on my face and decided to just barely wet my face during the shower... and only a little... not washing away the natural oils in my skin... ( I don't wear makeup hardly ever so I can get away with this ).. and now.. my face is glowing and radiant.

I think too many women over-wash their faces and strip the oils from their skin which makes their faces look dried out or break out a lot.

It was only when I quit over-washing that my face became so much prettier and smoother, softer and clearer.

The only thing I do these days is lightly wash with only water and add sunscreen. If I do wear makeup then I wash it off as quickly as I can before bed and apply a deep moisturizer to keep my skin supple. Then in the morning I just dampen my face with a tiny bit of water and reapply sunscreen.

I have gone a few days without washing my face at all, just to see if my face would look even better and it so does, it will just be totally glowing if you just use lotion and no water. I know it sounds crazy... but it's true. However, I always have to rinse my face with water for fear of germs on my skin... but really you'd be amazed at what your face would look like if you stopped washing it for a week. It's unbelievable how it will glow.

    Good luck

ummm i don't take showers but i will try to answer

i sugest after...mostly because there is a mirror at the sink and you can see what you are doingShould you wash your face before, during, or after you take a shower?
If you have any trouble with break outs you should wash it after you've used your hair conditioner. A lot of people don't realize how greasy and pore-clogging hair conditioner can be for your skin and they break out on their face and neck, back, etc. and don't make the connection. So, after you're done washing and conditioning your hair pull it up off of your neck with a clip or something and then wash your face and body so there's no conditioner residue left on your skin.
After the shower, to wipe off any residual shampoo, rinse, or soap.
i was my face during shower and i wash it with a face scrub thing =)
does it matter? i prefer during the shower. but w/e

When I wash my face in the sink, should I use....?

wash cloth or hands to apply water before cleanser and then to take the cleanser off? When I wash my face in the sink, should I use....?
wash cloth because your hands can be very dirty especially if you didnt wash your hands all dayWhen I wash my face in the sink, should I use....?
you can use your hands to wash your face, however if you want to scrub off dirt deeper, you may use your wash cloth but scrub it mildly strokes going upward.
Using just your hands is fine. If you use a wash cloth you could scratch your skin with the material. Likewise for rinsing the cleanser off.
I always just use my hands because if you use a washcloth it could scratch your face. And then when you are totally done rinsing your face off use a towel to pat your face dry!
It'd my opinion that a washcloth would provide you some exfoliating which would be good for your skin. rinse well.
ii will suggest a wash cloth..before you apply the cleanser and use the cloth to take it off..

dove is a product recommended to people who have a face with low mild to moderate acne symptoms. When buying any sort of bacterial face wash cleansers it is important to look at the percentage of alochol, benzonyl peroxide, and salycic acid ingredients. I suggest using a product without any alochol residents because that causes irritation and if your face is already has a tendency to get red, increase the usage of the product with higher salycic acid. AMEN
Well I did go through a time when I was allergic to it but fine with the bath stuff.
I used to but it didn't do any thing for me. all these products are the same - useless. I found that Neutrogena worked best.

I don't have an acne issue but I have used that face wash. It made my face feel overly greasy AFTER washing it. Try something that is designed for acne treatment.
NO!!!!!!!!!! don't do that!!!! use something SPECIFICALLY for acne and also doctor recommended

No. We use Johnson %26amp; Johnson Purpose soap %26amp; follow up with Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturizer with SPF 15
coaltar soap clears my acne up. i used it just in time for my wedding.
I have used it, but there is nothing like Proactive. Proactive is the best in the market.
I don't know but I use Acne Free! It works really nice..........It might take a little while for your skin to get better but I LOVE it!!!!!! It's $30 for a kit............You can get it at Costco!
Hi If you have acne I dont think this will you do your spots anygood, you need something that is oil free and and sensitive and soap free. I have tried dove products they are ok on the body but on the face is a big no. I have tried the extra sensitive bar of soap on my face, trying to dry my spots up and I ended up with more. So i dont think the face wash will be of any good.

If you have acne and sensitive combined and cannot use the stuff for acne as it burns your skin then try using something form clean and clear, not clearasil though.

My brother suffes from acne and he uses simple soap so this could help you too, I cant use it for some reason but it might dry up your spots.

Homemade face wash or scrub .?

Firstly using substances derived from vitamin A like retin-a or tazarotene, to reduce inflammation of the skin and to unplug pores. Retin-A can cause skin reddening at first but this is quite normal as the skin's blood supply is improved and younger looking skin begins to appear presenting a youthful complexion. Using a product that includes zinc will also help the vitamin a function better.

Nuetragena Oil free acne wash. Its orange in a pump bottle. Works great. Get at drug stores or get a big bottle at Cosco.
You need much more than a face wash!!!

I strongly suggest either the dermalogica medibac clearing complex

    or a new company called ';AcneFree';

Dermalogica cleared up the pimples effectively, but took a few weeks.

Acne Free started showing me results two days in.

I'd recommend start off with acnefree, then switch to dermalogica once you start to become clear to stay clear.

These two companies provide the most powerful concentrations of acne fighting medicine you can find without a persription.

Clearasil helped me out a bit over the summer too, but it's just a bunch of cleansers.

AcneFree Severe is literally 4 times more powerful than proavtive, and i strongly recommend the kit, which can be found anywhere at your local drug store for about 25-30 dollars.

    Look for the Orange Box.

    I swear to you, if the Acne Free Severe package won't work for you, NOTHING WILL;

the daytime medicine provides 10% benzoyl peroxide and no, it's not a spot treatment, although it is as effective.

    Best of luck.

I hope you take my advice.

    Once more,

local drugstore; orange box; ';Acne Free Severe';; 3 days.
my son has extremely bad acne problem. we tried everything - pharmacy creams, face washes, antibiotics. nothing helps. so now we will go to clinic and get roaccutane treatment - high dosage of vitamin A, makes your cholesterol level go high, so u need to check blood every 2 weeks. i didn't want to do that but his face looks horrible. no face wash helps. u may strat by visiting doctor and starting taking tetraciclin antibiotics they prescribe. also i noticed in summer in the sun acne disappear pretty well. so i was thinking (but hasn't started yet) using face solarium.
ive used it all, but the best is a good diet not midnight snacks, good amount of rest ,no stress ,and a lot of water, face washes really tear your skin up but there is one that i found is pretty good its called ';acne free'; and it doesnt aggrivate your skin like the other crap does, sometimes soap will work in between

there is also some stuff I got of the internet from an online pharmacy for cheap, it's called Retino-A and helps to get rid of breakouts,it's the real deal unlike that other junk, junst lie and tell them you have some type of acne condition and they'll give you a perscription. or if you have a good liver, which i don't) you can be perscribed Acutane which makes your face all red and burns your skin, but clears it up.

    proactive sucks

    clearaseal sucks

    xposed skin care sucks

    those scrubs suck

those alcohol pads are horrible and aggravate your skin

    hope this helps
Wash your face with oil only, try not using cover up seeing that can block pores. My sister has had acne for about 10 years (shes 24 and still has it) a lot of acne is caused from your hormones but also my family uses this product called Lalisse and it really does help! go to http://www.lalisse.com/ for more information.

  • Face wash making face oily.?

I don't have overly oily skin. I do break out, mostly on my chin, due to hormones. When I wash my face, it makes it more oily. What face wash have any of you used that won't over-dry your face, and won't make it oily? I'm looking for over-the-counter stuff too. Nothing that has to be ordered through a website. Just stuff I can get at the store. Thanks!Face wash making face oily.?
You could use a gentle soap like Acetaphil. It works great for my skin.

Whatever you use - don't scrub or use a face cloth. Just lather up with your hands, rub gently on your face and then splash-rinse off with warm (tepid) water until the soap is all off. Then dry gently by patting it with a clean towel that only YOU will use.

You are right that washing your face is probably making your face oilier. The scrubbing stimulates the oil glands, as do the ';drying'; kinds of soaps.

    Good luck!

    Face wash making face oily.?
    Hi Kelbel:

I know you do not want to buy online, but the best thing you can use on your face is an all olive oil 100% soap. The best place to find this offline is to go to craft shows or festivals and find the soap booth. Then, ask for a pure olive oil soap.

I make one that is only olive oil with no scents or additives of any kind. I am not the only soapmaker who makes this particular soap. It is the best soap for all faces and really works. It leaves the face protected from harsh environments, as well as encouraging the oil glands to produce normally - no breaking out at all. It does not clog the pores. It is fantastic soap, and I highly recommend it for you. You would be very happy with the results.

Sorry to ramble...I feel passionate about it.

    Thanks, Kathleen
Anything strong and astringent will make it worse. You are better off with a very gentle product. Try a gentle scrub and oil free moisturiser. Golfgirl's recmd good.
I have oily skin so I am not sure, but I love the Nutregena Face Wash. I always reduce my achne when I use that stuff.
    Noxema.

It comes in a big blue container.
My 14 year old uses Acne Free and loves it. We buy it at Wal-Mart.

I found that AVON have a good one, also with pearls in from their Clearskin range, it doesn't dry out the skin and it smells quite pleasant and doesn't make the eyes sting.Good Face wash / soap?
neutrogena. that leaves your skin soft and not all dry or not too oily either.
    clinique
I would suggest either the wavy by neutrogenaor regula baby wipes!!
i like clinique cleanser toner and moisturizer
anything made by Simple. its good even if you have really really really sensitive skin and it gets rid of your makeup. i love it and i wear dark/ black makeup everyday lol
clean %26amp; clear, try it! i love it
Have to agree with all of these but i suffer with my skin and have found Simple to be the best for make-up removal and leaving my skin in good condition.

Cleanse tone and moisturize with it, it works a treat!
Baby oil (by Johnsons!) makes your make up glide off easily =] x
neutrogena pads as well as the wash is awesome! clean and clear and proactiv if you've got a fair amount of acne, otherwise AVON has great make up removers - even though their actual make up isn't of the best quality.. lol
i use equate creamy facial cleanser. its great at getting rid of eye makeup, since its more of a cream you can put it on a q-tip and it your eye makeup comes right off, its also really inexpensive and i think you can get it at walmart.
Merle Norman foaming cleansers. They have a cleanser for every problem. Acne, dryness, oily, delicate. These cleansers leave your face feeling fresh and vibrant.. for best results, follow with a toner!
I use just plain old dove soap (the white solid bar). It takes off all makeup and removes dirt and oil. It also never leaves your skin dry.
    try clean and clear
i absolutely swear by liz earle cleanse and polish.

it's this cream which you rub all over your face and then polish and wipe off with a wet muslin cloth.

it gently exfoliates at the same time and takes all your make up off in one sweep.

i know loads of people who love it - it's cleared up one guys acne and also helped someone with exzema.

    it's brilliant !

    and no i don't work for liz earle don't worry ! ;0)

I love Classics sold by my school, catherinehindscompany.com. The cleansers take off make-up as well as cleaning your face. Just make sure any kind of cleanser you try to use a toner and moisturizer in the same skin care line. Its much better for your skin.

Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser with 10% benzoyl peroxide. It's in the purple bottle and only like 5 bucks at Target. Noxema-any kind I use blackhead control-u can feel it cleaning!!!
    Cetaphil.

    Cleans throughly but gently.

    Dermatologist recommended, over the counter.
    Proactive is really good.
    Avon-Clean and Clear skin

it works so good, i wash my face before i go to bed every night and wake up with no acne!! And it's only 2 bucks!!! i luv it!!
nutrogena , the little orange bar. thats the best thing . every other thing makes my face get itchy red and rashy its the best!
dont wash your face with all these chemically activated products, they strip your face off their natural oils and so your skin starts producing excess of it to get it back to normal (leading to acne)

take my advice, wash your face with a hot towel....keep the heat pressed against your skin for minute, and then close your pores with a splash of cold water. No facewash needed.

If you are really keen on facewash and cant live without it then Lancome - for sensitive skin (its a pink tube) should be a safe bet
I like proactive. It worked really well for me. You can buy it in the kiosk shop thingys in the mall :D
Um Neutrogena and Clearasil cleared out my face. I look aswome know!!
    AcneFree by Neutrogena works
i use phisoderm or somthing like that it works really good not perfect but its good for a daily cleanser.
Oilatum-AD. This is a very gentle liquid antibacterial cleanser for about $11. No fancy packaging, marketing claims or gimicky tingling, but it is way better than the regular brands and dermatologist recommended.

Soap and most of popular face washes you get at the drugstore actually make your face more oily. They dry up the oil so it seems like they're working, but this just triggers your oil glands to produce more oil and sends your natural oil control out of wack. Antibacterial is important because it kills all the bacterial on your skin, which is what produces most acne.

Now, I know you said your local store...you get this at drug stores, but you might have to ask because many don't always have on the shelf but will order it for you at the pharmacy counter. It's worth calling in an order. It made my skin so much clearer, and also brighter and more healthy looking.

Next best thing that is always on the shelf at Target and drugstores is Cetaphil, which is gentle and not too drying, but not antibacterial. You might also want to check labels for products that say antibacterial. I used to get some acne on my back and switched to Lever 2000 anti-bacterial bath soap and it went away.

Oh, and wash your face at night before you go to bed to get rid of the day's dirt and bacteria because your skin is rejuvenating itself at night. No need to wash in the morning unless you really feel you need to - it can actually interfere with the natural balance.

    Nutrogena face wash?

I wouldn't use Neutrogena, always broke out and was red after using their products, I think they are too strong. Try Biore they have products specifically for large pores.

    Clearasil face wash?

Clearasil face wash gel works for me in 4 days but is it normal for it to sting when you put it on your face i dont even have that many spots they go away when i use it but when i through it on my face it kinda burns and when i wash it off it does'ntClearasil face wash?
Yes its normal it means its working trust me i have been through the exact same thing..... kinda cus i have acne problems too but nothing works 4 me.Clearasil face wash?
Clearasil does have a tendency to sting. It has salicylic acid and/or benzoyl peroxide, which are the active ingredients that help your skin clear up so quickly. The downside: a LOT of people experience the same stinging sensation you're talking about. However, it is not harmful, it IS normal, and actually, the stinging sensation is sometimes used to promote skincare products! It sounds like you have sensitive skin. You can continue using Clearasil with the knowledge that it does its job but it may continue to sting for some time until your skin becomes used to it. Another option: find a skincare product for sensitive skin.
It actually depend on your skin type. but mostly it will sting a little bit because of its contents like benzoyl peroxide, triclosan or salicylic acid which causes stingy feeling.

I used to use clearasil soap before however i had allergies on that, my facial skin darkened and i was getting more acne instead.

my best suggestion is to make an observation or better yet visit your dermatologist.

Which face wash? (Easy question don't hesitate!)?

    Spectro

    Neutrogena

    Clearasil

    Nivea

    Biore

    ???

Thanks.Which face wash? (Easy question don't hesitate!)?
Im guessing this is for your little brother who has oily and acne-prone skin. Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask is the most popular drugstore facial cleanser with the most positive feedback. He can use that as mask once a week. Acne washes alone wont get rid of acne. He will need a topical acne treatment like Clean %26amp; Clear Persa-Gel 10. This is the best drugstore treatment so far. If possible, I recommend that h see a dermatologist so that he can get prescription strength treatments like Brevoxy-8 Wash and Retin-A Micro, Erythromycin and Benzoyl Peroxide Gel, Clindamycin Phosphate, or Ziana. Antibiotics might be good as well. Tehy include minocycline and doxycycline.Which face wash? (Easy question don't hesitate!)?
I switch sometime between Neutrogena and Nivea... though mostly I used Nivea. I preferred it.
i use rapid exfoliating cleanser. its the best. you can get it from www.ardysslife.com/thetrueyou

I would go with Neutrogena as that's the brand of the face wash I'm currently using. :D

I need a new face wash...?

I tried Cetaphil yesterday and I broke out in a rash. My mom says I should try Neutrogena next, but I want to try St. Ives. Which do you recommend, and do you have any particular products in mind?I need a new face wash...?
    purity made simple by philosophy

since you have such sensitive skin, go to sephora and tell them about your needs and then ask for a free sample of purity. try it for two days and see how it works for you

i love it- it takes off all your makeup, doesn't burn your eyes, tones and cleanses really well and it's super gentleI need a new face wash...?
I highly recommend Purpose gentle cleansing wash

It's really great, dermatologist approved, and it's great for sensitive skin. It contains NO alcohol (which the cetaphil does) and it smells like baby shampoo. It also won't sting if you get it in your eyes, and it's only about $6

I think it's great, because my skin is really sensitive. It's a great gentle cleanser.
I wouldn't use Neutrogena. I've experience Neutrogena and it was really harsh of my skin. I have cetaphil but prefer not to try the product now. Although I did try it once, and all seem okay. Next day I tried the product again, and I did experience a few negative results. Maybe it was just that day, so I plan to try cetaphil soon.
St. Ives is good for exfoliating but shouldn't be used everyday, it could damage and irritate your skin, i used to use it, but only like once a week. I've used Neutrogena, but did notice that it dried my shin out. If you did choose to use it, you can always use a moisturizer after you wash.

you should try an alcohol free cleanser, since it seems like you have pretty sensitive skin. I find Simple's products very gentle and mild, but still effective.

Used Neutrogena in the past, found it was quite harsh. Makes my skin tight after that.
If you have a Lush store ( Macy's sometimes has a Lush counter). They have a lot of natural things, usually you can get a couple slivers to try. Coal Face is really good for very oily skin.
I used Neutrogena Acne Wash...and the transparent bar and I have flawless skin...I also use vitamin E from the body shop.
Dove face wash is good if you don't have oily skin. Also, Olay makes good face washes too.
Neutrogena drys skin out. Try Aveeno, i use it, but i am a teenager
I would suggest Clinique! You get the three step system. It is kind of expensive but it last a long time and it's a good product!
Anything Noxzema. It smells really good and it works well.
I would steam my face, and than use St.Ives because neither of these things have harsh chemicals that would cause a rash.
